Frequently Asked Questions

Q: You mentioned that you are a club sport, so being a club sport who runs your team?.

A: Our team is student ran and student funded. We do have Club Sports advisers that look over everything we do and are always on hand when something comes up.

Q: What are the requirements to be a part of the program?

A: Every student athlete must maintain a 2.0 GPA and registered in 6 credit hours, at the least. If an athlete falls below the 2.0 GPA and 6 credit hours, then they will be placed on the ineligibility list until they raise their GPA and register for enough credit hours. Other requirements are having a 3.0 to be nominated for Academic All-American through the NCFA.

Q: What is the farthest that you travel?

A: Our farthest game has been around 6 hours. Any game over 5 hours automatically becomes an overnight game and will result in staying over night in a hotel. Our conference just adopted a team from Colorado (University of Colorado-Colorado Springs) and that is a 12 hour drive. We are already considering our travel options by either finding a neutral field, making it a 3 day trip so its not taxing on the players, and other options.

Q: What is your time commitment for your program?

A: We practice 3 times per week (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) from 5:00-7:00pm and during season our games fall on Saturday for other club football teams and Sundays for NCAA DIII, NAIA, and NCJAA teams. We try our best to keep the time commitment down and to also work with our athletes schedule outside of football. Many players have jobs, are a part of the military, or have a family to take care of so we want to make sure that they are still able to do so while being on the field with us and getting the College Football Experience.

Q: What college teams have you competed against?

A: Illinois College (2016-2017), Graceland University (2016-2017), Morthland College (2016), Central Methodist University (2016-Present), Washington University-St. Louis (2018-Present).

Q: Where are some of the other club football teams located?

A: Colorado, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Maine, New York, and Florida

Q: What is your conference and who do you play?

A: We are in the Great Lakes West Conference. Teams in our conference are University of Colorado-Colorado Springs, Robert Morris University-Peoria, and Loyola University-Chicago.

Q: How many players do you normally have each season?

A: We average around 25 players. However, we want to get as many players as we can.

Q: What is your roster max size?

A: 50 players. However, if we manage to get over 50 players we would look into splitting the team into an A/B system (JV/V system) and would look to schedule more games for the other team created.

Q: Are males the only ones allowed to play?

A: No, we welcome all to be a part of our program. We have only had a handful of females come out with the thought that we are a flag football team and leave once notified that we are a contact football team. Overall, we accept all players and playing experiences.

Q: Does your team try to help get players to other levels of football?

A: Yes we do try to help with this. All of our games are filmed and all the stats are tracked for the players to use at their discretion. We are more than willing to find a way to reach out to higher level organizations to help them further their career.
